Inside the checklist
UK grant readiness checklist
A two-page working document we use with founders before they write anything. No email gate, no signup, no drip sequence.
Page 1: readiness checklist
- Company eligibility, subsidy control headroom and filings that have to be clean
- Project fit, research category and the scope tests assessors apply first
- Match funding, cash flow and cost build checks before you touch a finance form
- Team, partner, IP and evidence pack items that take weeks to gather
Page 2: programme quick reference
- Innovate UK competitions, Investor Partnerships and Innovation Loans, and who each one suits
- Horizon Europe, EIC Accelerator and Eurostars, with the criteria assessors weight most
- KTP, SBRI and defence and security funding, plus sector programmes such as ARIA and ATI
- Writing, submission and realistic timeline checks for a competitive first attempt
Deliberately undated so it stays useful. For live competition windows and closing dates, use our grants directory, which we keep current.
Deadlines
What is closing next
Year-round opportunities
Start early, submit strong
Innovate UK, Horizon Europe and UKRI competitions open and close throughout the year. The strongest applications begin with plenty of lead time for technical planning, finance and partner letters. We can move quickly if you are already close to a deadline, but starting early gives your project the best chance.
Closing dates move, so we keep them in one place rather than repeating them across the site. The live grants directory shows every competition we track with its current status and deadline.
New guides and funding updates
