The challenge
A materials company had a candidate electrode chemistry that could cut cell cost significantly, but the data set was thin and EIC Accelerator topics are narrowly worded. Applying under the wrong challenge area would have cost a full annual cycle.
What we did
- Mapped the technology to the correct EIC Accelerator challenge and completed the required short proposal stage.
- Built the technical narrative around measurable performance targets versus the incumbent chemistry.
- Wrote the full application including the business plan and equity/grant blended finance case ahead of the jury interview.
The result
A €2.5M blended grant and equity award funding the cycling and safety data needed for a scale-up production line.
