The challenge
An early-stage diagnostics company had promising bench data but no funded route to the analytical validation study payers and regulators would expect. The team had never written to an Innovate UK panel and did not know which health theme fit their indication.
What we did
- Matched the indication to the right Biomedical Catalyst strand and structured the objectives around unmet clinical need.
- Built the research strategy, preliminary data narrative and patient benefit sections with the PI, who met the eligibility requirements.
- Prepared CVs, letters of support and the full submission package through the Innovation Funding Service.
The result
A £314,000 award covering the validation study, generating the evidence needed for a later-stage translation submission.
